Blues Win 3-Peat WA State Relay

The North Beach U20 Men’s Relay Team has won their third WA State Relay Title in a row today.

Congratulations go to our U20 Men’s 4x100m relay team winning the GOLD medal at state relays for the third year in a row. The team of (photo above left to right) Mitch Tassicker, Luke RobinsonAdam Kopp & William Reinicke blazed to victory in a solid 44.38sec (third fastest over all age groups) ahead of University of WA and Curtin Athletics Club to ensure they claimed the 2016/17 title.

Special mention and thanks must go out to captain Adriaan Pelser scheduled to run the third leg for the team. Unfortunately due to illness, he was unable to run but stepping in for him at the last minute was team mate William Reinicke. It was a tremendous effort by the team to make sure the baton made it around as Adriaan had done all of the change practice with the team in the weeks leading up to the event. Interestingly, all the 3 teams from the 2014/15, 2015/16 & 2016/17 squads were made up of different members!
