13yo North Beach athlete Adriaan Pelser has won the 2013 Be Active Mullewa Gift on Saturday. He becomes the youngest winner in Mullewa Gift history.

120m Gift final

Starting from the mark of 25m Pelser had overtaken second place getter Sophie Watts (26.5m) and held on from fast finishing Australian representatives Ben Offereins (3rd) and Chad Perris (4th). He won by the short margin of 0.05sec.

It was Pelser’s first ever professional victory after entering every pro race last season. The Blues had 4/8 finalists in the Gift with Chad Perris 4th, Mathew Short 6th and Brittanny Brymer 7th.

120m Novice podium 2013

Earlier in the day the BLUES had another victory with 15yo Rhys Davies (above white) winning the Mullewa 120m Novice Gift ahead of team mate Taylor Watson (pink).

Once again after supporting the WCAL and entering almost all of the professional races last season, Rhys has come away with his first ever pro victory!

North Beach had 4/6 finalists in the Novice race with Jarrod de Rosario finishing 4th and Brittanny Brymer placing 5th.
