North Beach Junior Blues added another 5 more medals to the record breaking total on Friday night at the WA Athletics Stadium. This now takes the total to 22 state medals so far…
Abigail Dargan lead the junior team to more medals last night with a gold medal performance in the U15 girls Triple Jump leaping 9.63m. New Blues Female Captian Jane Stockley showed her improved speed this season by winning gold in the women’s U20 200m in a time of 29.41sec. Other junior performances included Baylee Saltmarsh finishing 5th in the U15 200m in a time of 29.16sec. Ella Italiano-Schmidt ran strongly to finish 6th in the U16 girls 200m finishing with 27.95sec. And Taylor Watson came 6th in the U16 girls Triple Jump with a performance of 9.86m.
In the boy’s U16 200m record breaker Fraser Fullerton (below) finished with an impressive bronze medal in a time of 27.45sec. 14yo Brad Waters stepped up a few weight divisions to win a bronze medal in the U18 boy’s long jump with a leap of 4.67m. Then the incredibly brave Junior Blue stepped up another division to win a silver medal in the U20 Men’s discus with a throw of 16.73m. Ben King finished 6th in the U20 200m in a time of 23.54sec.
In other results Sarah Edmiston won the Open Women’s discus with a throw of 32.78m. Jane Stockley and Taylor Watson both jumped 1.50m in the Women’s High Jump to finish equal 5th place. Maddi Fairburn ran the 800m in 2.37.63sec, Mathew Mahood ran 11.71sec in the Men’s 100m, Andrew Bannister clocked 15.13sec in the 100m and 1.10.24sec in the 400m. Club veteran and life member Alan Deans made his season debut in the 100m with a time of 16.96sec. Ben King finished 3rd in the Men’s 400m with a time of 52.86sec and Fraser Fullerton was 6th in the same race with a time of 55.20sec.
