North Beach also paid tribute to the outstanding efforts of some club members since the new ‘re-born’ beginning of the club 3 years ago. It was at this time the club was on the brink of a merge with West Track Club until ex-President and Life Member Barrie Kernaghan stepped in (and out) of the role of rebuilding the club. The following season the club decided to change name and start fresh from scratch again with another new board (the third in three years). The efforts since then has been an outstanding achievement of the management team with the Blues bagging in excess of 35 state medals this season. Appreciation was shown for outgoing captain Steve Rafty (below left) who received a $100 Gold movie card gift for his 3 years excellent service as team captain and leader. As did website designer/producer Daniel Roffman (below right) for his excellent and professional service to the club at this pivotal time. Those gifts were presented by club President Paul Edmiston.
News from the AGM saw the Blues 2012/13 management board remaining much the same for next season with the only change coming from the social committee with a brand new team of Sue Saltmarsh, Kelly Dargan & James Ockelford. Many thanks goes to the team for collecting a fantastic range of prizes for the awards night.
