Junior Blues win the medals
North Beach Junior Athletes has won a swag of medals on Day 1 of the WA State Championship at the WA Athletics Stadium.
In the girls U14yo 100m Emily Duke won a silver medal in a swift time of 13.84sec. The girls U15 saw Abigail Dargan come off injury to win a silver medal in the high jump leaping a height of 1.50m. In the girls U16 200m hurdles Ella Italiano-Schmidt (above left) blazed around the track winning a silver medal in a time of 31.25sec. The U16 girls HJ Taylor Watson (above right) won a bronze medal with a leap of 1.40m. And in the Women’s U20 100m Jane Stockley won a silver medal in a time of 13.82sec, she also won another silver in the HJ with a leap of 1.55m.
In the boys U15 200m hurdles Junior Blue Adrian Biemmi won silver in a time of 34.61sec, he also won the 3kg Shot Put on the night with a throw of 10.84m. A gold medal was won in the Men’s U20 400m hurdles with Ben King taking out the title in a time of 56.44sec, he also ran 7th in the U20 100m with 11.64sec.
Fraser Fullerton (pictured right) has won a bronze medal in the U16yo Boy’s 800m with another fine performance of 2.02.45sec, he ran well again in the 400m with a time of 54.96sec. T36 athlete Andrew Bannister ran 14.89sec in the Men’s 100m and 1.21.39sec in the 400m. Mathew Mahood ran an impressive 11.45sec PB in the Men’s 100m. Courtney Korck threw a SB/PB in the Women’s hammer with a effort of 31.35m. And U14yo Jarrod De Rosario made his season debut in the 400m with a time of 57.93sec and 12.44sec in the 100m.
