North Beach flyer Tim Branston has taken out the 2012 Kennards Hire Rockingham Gift from team mate Steven Rafty. The Blues vice captain held on by the narrowest of margins (0.01sec, photo finish above) to take home the $750 winners prize & trophy from club captain Rafty. With both the guys competing from the same 15m mark it made the race a very exciting and an intense battle all the way down the home straight. They held off Surf Lifesaving veteran Glenn Ross who finished in third place followed by other Blues runners Mathew Short & Ben Clark (equal 4th), Andrew Bannister (6th), Cole Unasa (7th) & Leigh Edwards (8th).

The Men’s 120m race (above) was dominated by the Blues athletes making up 7 of the 8 finalists. Full Results.

In other Rockingham results Jane Stockley finished 3rd in the Women’s 550m event and Fraser Fullerton placed 7th in the Men’s 550m. Well done to all the Blues entrants!
