North Beach Junior Blue Fraser Fullerton (pictured above) has set a new Hamersley Little Athletics U13 Boy’s 800m record on Saturday morning with a time of 2.12.80sec. The old record of 2.13.1 sec was set in 1985, and stood an amazing 27 years (from the days of hand timing!)
It is no surprise that Fraser has broken these records after racking up a few months training with the North Beach Athletics senior club.
The previous Friday night Fraser ran another Personal Best time in the 400m at the WA Athletics Stadium. Showing he is in good form in the business half of the season, he ran around the track in a 55.58sec blaze of glory. Improving his old PB by almost a full second.
Fraser has entered his first professional meeting next weekend in the $500 Southern Cross Bujitsu 550m Race on a grass track at Charles Riley Reserve, North Beach. And with form like this, he is bound to start as one of the favourtes for that race.
Update 14/1/12: OMG! our Fraser has been at it again… Breaking records that is… This time it’s the HLAC U14 Boys 400m record that takes a beating. The old record was 56.80sec, the new record is now 56.12sec. This record has stood for 20 years & is Fraser’s second record in two weeks. The future is looking very bright indeed!
