After a 6year long break, North Beach thrower Sarah Edmiston has won both the women’s hammer (32.70m) and discus (33.92m) in her first competition back, at the WA Athletics Stadium on Friday night. Competing with fellow blues team mate Courtney Korck who supported her well finishing 3rd in the hammer with a PB of 19.99m, and threw solidly in the discus with 18.24m.

On a very hot, humid, summer’s night Mathew Short was the fastest West Australian in the men’s 100m with a 11.36sec performance, and backed it up later in the night with a season’s best 51.38sec 400m.

Ben Clark tuned up for state relays by improving his best 400m of the season to 52.51sec, and Steve Rafty ran 57.14sec after a long competition break. After a blistering first 200m, Mike Sala finished the 400m in a solid time of 61.16sec.

Andrew Bannister runs a massive 4sec PB in the 400m with 75.08sec,  and a solid 100m with 15.36sec.
